LaFaye Johnson Lee Elementary School is a repeat of the original Jane Farney Elementary School which was completed in 1999. Through months of intensive planning with administrators and end-users, Bay Architects designed a plan that centers around the districts' "open classroom" concept. Grade levels are strategically grouped together in "pods" and are joined by clusters of centrally located multi-purpose spaces. Two corridors link the academic spaces with the library and a main street separates the "noisy" areas from the quieter academic spaces, while also providing easy monitoring of students.
