Alief Hastings High School
Client: Alief ISD
Completion Date: 2000
Construction Cost: $3,199,157
Services: Planning, Design, Construction Administration
The additions to Alief-Hastings High School were designed to consolidate the administration area near the entrance to the school and provide an "identifiable" front door while also acting as a security portal to the entrance of this sprawling campus. A unification of the north and south houses was achieved with the addition of a curved colonnade which also acted as the new façade for the band hall addition. The introduction of a glass topped entry tower created a new identity for the campus.
The relocation of the administration area provides additional safety benefits by allowing the main office to visually control the student and bus drop-off and the visitor entrance.
