As the 14th elementary school for Galena Park ISD, this playful facility houses 950 PreK through 5th grade students. The efficient design clusters grade levels into three main corridors, thereby separating differing age groups. Three multi-purpose areas are included in the design which can be easily converted to classrooms for future expansion needs. Because the bids came in significantly under budget, the district chose to include more than $100,000 of terrazzo flooring in the cafeteria and main circulation areas.
